Got bored and wrote a textured wall renderer.
If you really wanted to you could simply replace sspr with line and have a colored wall renderer.

That's nice, it reminds me of a CPC demo trying to do simpler texture mapping with this trick.

Awesome! I don't fully understand the code yet (PICO noob) but I'm wondering how widely this can trick can be applied to make 3D games for PICO.

No, it's a wall renderer. You'd have the make the slopes for the sides and the line slices horizontal instead.
