In the Elven country life is hard for architects.
You have been proven guilty in a murky affair about bridge collapse and the elf King sentenced you to survive on a very small island in the acid lake of Torgründ.
Of course acid level is rising everyday and your only solution is to build a tower to escape a terrible death.
Thanks to gods, stones are literally falling from the sky in this region, so it should not be a problem for you.
- arrow keys : move your architect
- (z) jump
- (x) + wall : kick or destroy a wall
- (x) + up : build a ladder ( consume one plank )
- (x) in the air : build a wooden floor.
ladders and wooden floors can earn you gems if you do them right.
Acid will rise faster as your tower go higher, so try to climb as fast as you can.
Take care of goblins and flurgs. They always ruins everything.
I had no time to finish this game as I intended to.
Be ready for some clunky platform action and maybe some freeze if you are unlucky.

I got a chance to try this game in earnest— it’s really fun and actually kind of addictive. I’m impressed you made such a solid game for a jam. I love how the concept adds an element of customization to the endless climber genre. you should consider building (heh) on this foundation, it has a lot of potential!!
I had an idea similar to this once, but I never created it. My idea was that you started deep down in some dungeon pit. For whatever reason it was falling apart and single items would fall from the top. Blocks, potions, keys, chests, snakes, spiders, rats, and doors would fall down. You couldn't place them, just keep above blocks, fight enemies roguelike style, collect treasure and use the doors to somehow to gain height. I couldn't figure out if it should be an endless climber and mine was like some strange block puzzle/dodge/platformer sort of game.
I like your game, so much better in execution (and makes better sense). Thank you for posting this cart. :)

The flying enemy animation is really cool!
Got to 4755 score and 55 gems after a few tries (although the gem count always seem to be higher on the score screen than in-game).
I like how the game starts with tetrominoes and later it changes to other stuff, it helps keep things fresh.
Looking through old jams and boy this game has a lot of potential. I love this one. I know you ran out of time so it's understandable this is pretty bare-bones, but my only major issue I have is that one of the main motivators in building well are gems which don't have any use other than score. I'd play this game all the time if gems gave you something.
Another thought: maybe you could also do something like making you run back down to the bottom once you've reached a certain height, incentivising you to leave a good path both up and down and getting to revisit your work.
@squritzMD I will probably comeback to this entry later and try to improve it. The gems were added in the last hour of the jam because the game felt like it needed some objectives. I like the idea of having to go up and down the tower, it totally fit the architect idea I had. Maybe I'll get rid of the acid thing for it or I'll change it for a tide mechanic. With each tide getting bigger and bigger and you have to get resources on the ground while the tide is low.
