Is there any way to make a pattern stop short of 32 notes? (like famitracker has a Bxx effect for jumping to another pattern/frame) I have some music with a repeating section but it won't fit in 32 notes. if I could make it stop at say note 24 (or whatever it ends up being) I could repeat this section in a pattern and not have to waste an extra sfx.
This may not answer your question as it depends on what you want to do exactly (and may not even be possible), but you could try either using a faster speed setting with more gaps between notes to make it sound like it's playing back at the original tempo, or play around with the loop end/start settings at the top right of the editor.
The loop start/end settings almost do what I want...I'd just want the start/end to be all the notes that play for that pattern and then continue on to the next one. So if I wrote 17 notes just play those and immediately start the next pattern after the 17th note is done.
If a pattern has both looping and non-looping sounds, it will end when the last non-looping sound does. If you set the sounds you want to cut off to loop 0-32 and play them alongside a non-looping sound with a faster speed, they'll get cut off. You just have to get the timing right.
From the manual as of version 0.2.4c:
> For time signatures like 3/4 where less than 32 rows should be played before jumping to the
> next pattern, the length of a SFX can be set by adjusting only the first loop position and
> leaving the second one as zero. This will show up in the sfx editor as "LEN" (for "Length")
> instead of "LOOP".
So what you need to do is:
Set the loop-start value to the pattern length you want and set the loop-end value to 0.
