It would also be helpful if the arrow keys could be used in other parts of Pico8, like in the sprite editor too or any place it makes sense to that hasn't already.

I think the arrow keys already have a useful function in the sprite editor : They shift the sprite. Very useful for when you realize that you need one more row of pixels to the left of what you've already drawn.

yes, panning via keyboard in the map editor would be great!

You can hold the space bar and drag, if that helps.
