I can get Windows, Linux and Raspberry updates but what about PocketCHIP?
My mobile development platform can no longer run a lot of the newly published games :[

@freds72: I think it's dependent on NextThingCo to make a build....

Have you tried installing the raspi version? I have no idea if that would work, but worth trying.

Tried and complains about missing libs :[

I miss the new version too on the Pocket Chip. Hopefully they'll update it soon... :/

Yeah its extremely disappointing that the PC has a very outdated version of P8. Ive barely touched it. Overall a serious let down.

From blog post announcement from Zep:
"Hey Everyone! PICO-8 0.1.11d builds are now live on Lexaloffle and Humble! We are still working on CHIP / Pocket CHIP builds -- I'll update this thread when they are live."

i wouldnt count on ntc doing anything at all, they can barely even run their own business

Hmmm, they don't inspire confidence. No real correspondence from them.

Man that sucks. Pico8 on Pocket Chip is my methadone for smart phone addiction. My game is getting wordy and I could really use those those code tabs!

It has now been a couple month without any news on this topic.
What’s holding things up?
Who should we lobby? NTC or @zep?

Yeah. I am hoping for an updated version for the pocket chip, too. I wonder if there is a problem because of what seems to be happening at NextThing. I am hoping that zep might be able to add a chip build to the download section.

The latest version is running on PocketCHIP but hasn't been through QA yet, and I haven't been able to get much information on how that's going. I'm not currently at liberty to release CHIP updates myself separately, but will see about getting that changed. In any case I'll be taking over the role of providing updates at some point, and it will be easier to release in sync across platforms.

I'm really sorry about how long CHIP users have had to wait for this update, and I don't want to give the impression that support for CHIP PICO-8 is fading out -- the goal is ultimately for it to have long-term compatibility on all host platforms, so that you can run 2051 carts on your 2015 PocketCHIP.

Actually no-one knows what's happening over at NTC. No communication, People's orders not updating or being delivered at all for almost two years now.. No response to any of the official emails.

It's like the company's disappeared entirely.

Still waiting on the pocketchip I ordered back in August last year :P

It's a shame too as Pico-8 is one of the main reasons I wanted the chip in the first place.. Prototyping!

Yes, I've given up on mine ever arriving. A real shame.

i gave up on ntc shortly after my pocketchip showed up(i got really lucky and it was in the last major shipment before they went silent), but at least it got me to buy pico8 and voxatron so im only a little salty

Does anybody know why orders for Pocket C.H.I.Ps are on hold? Is it even worth getting into, knowing how slow they are with updates and bad with customer service?

i would look elsewhere for any sbc needs, ntc still has 2 year old orders that are unfilled

It looks like Zep has updated the pocket chip version to 0.1.11G!

Thanks, Zep!

I did an update / upgrade today and it was there.

Woooot!
Here I come fillp surfaces!

"It looks like Zep has updated the pocket chip version to 0.1.11G!"
WOT!!?? Now where is the windows/linux/osx 0.1.11g version!!?? ;)

Yay!

There is a new update! Hooray!

Thanks Zep!

Thanks ZEP! now the kids can actually enjoy playing the newer games (whispers... That's how I get them into the code... they edit the sounds and sprites... soon they'll want to know how the change the programming code) ;D

How do we update to the latest PICO-8?

sudo apt-get install chip-pico-8

?

I think it's sudo apt-get update pico-8
