A Pokemon Yellow Demake! (Not Complete)

Sorry, this cart is likely to not be complete by me since I haven't touched it in several months, but I didn't want all the art work to go to waste so I put it up anyways. I hope someone gets a bit of nostalgic joy from seeing something that is (fairly) accurate to the real game on the Pico-8!

I learned a lot about sprite art design and music from recreating this game. If someone would like to work on it further and you have any questions, you can send me a message on twitter @illMadeCoder, I'd love to help!

Thanks for checking out my cart!

Very faithful demake (remake?)
The music is a very nice detail!

This looks great. Might need to peek into the code to get an idea how you've organised map data, handled the dialog and other touches.

This is looking really good so far, I hope you decide to continue work at some point!

@alvarop

Yeah, weird to call it a demake or a remake honestly, I feel like a demake should take the art and mechanics and simplifies them, but at the same time a remake typically is meant to remake the entire game not just the first minute. So eh, demake is the typical pico-8 term anyways.

@springogeek
Thanks, the map data is handled in the lamest way possible, that was actually an aspect I'd have to work on to continue production. The dialog system is fairly straight forward but possibly worth taking a look at if you don't have much experience.

@PixelCod
I may try to finish it in a couple weeks, but a lot of the leftover work is fairly tedious with the exception of the first battle which is where I plan on ending it.

Just discovered this-thanks for your work from a few years ago ^^

Really great work !
Too bad the project is not finished I would have loved to play pokemon on Pico8 :D
