Hey thanks for reply sorry I didn't let you know sooner. There's two corners where the ... racer can slip off the map. I'd show you right now but I can't seem to get the game to run? Just a black screen, no cart loading.


A really great game! I think it would be significantly better at a higher frame rate (50/60 fps), and I still have hopes that Pico-8 in the future will allow this.


Really well made! I think the smoke streams behind the cars if a brilliant way to keep them in view! I found a spot were my car could escape the track in the tight corner on the first track, but it still reset onto the track when I drove into the black -- instead of crashing the engine.


Thanks! Yes there are a few tight corners where you can escape the collision detection, need to improve this.

0.1.6 has allowed me to rework the vector class with operator overloading, so I can do things like

self.pos += self.vel

which saves a lot of tokens.

with the extra space I'm adding weapons!

Here are some homing missiles:

Will likely add some mines, shields, other suggestions welcome.

I don't think I'll add health, but it just knocks you around, slows you down and disables your boost for a few seconds.


Now that Pico-8 supports 60 FPS, can we PLEASE have a 60 FPS version of this game?

I did make a 60fps prototype, but it only just manages to run at that speed on simple tracks and without AI.

I'm probably going to continue development on something other than pico8 (while retaining the visual limitations) but allowing 60fps and allowing more code.


Okay... Well, you should definitely make this a mobile game.
I'll buy it!

This game is amazing! Does anyone else have problems when playing on pocket chip? Mine shuts down pico 8 at the end of each race.


Still waiting on my pocketchip so I've not been able to test it yet =(

When using the track editor, NEVER DELETE THE WHOLE MAP
