I'm a little bit worried because windows defender flagged picotron.exe as a Malware after executing it in my computer.

Also in virustotal there are some sites that consider it as malware too

https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/acaf5a25a366fa2e2a28fa3994af276da696412726f48aba76eded4503e6eb5e

Can you confirm the binary is safe?

What? Microsoft is malware. Picotron is goodware

picotron.exe is infected with Trojan.Generic.35536287

@zep - may be worth uploading all binaries pre-release to VirusTotal ...I have a distant memory this can help with whitelisting...

I hope this is sorted out, because i’m very hyped with picotron, but i don’t want to disable windows defender to run it.

Meanwhile it would be nice to have a linux/arm64 version to run it on a raspberry pi

Hi! Windows defender doesn't detect for me (in version 1e), but VirusTotal.com does.

bitdefender goes into direct alert.
he kills him straight away.
No problems with previous versions of picotron

Just purchased and installed BitDefender but it doesn't detect any trojan in the picotron.exe file... I don't undestand anything...

the problem only comes from Windows version 0.1.0e
Impossible to download it because my antivirus blocks it, if I force the download it destroys the zip, if I force it and use it it contaminates my Roaming directory.
there is a real virus on this version 0.1.0e which prevents me from using it

I can post screenshots to you if needed.
my anti virus is bitdefender ultimate security

THB, I don't think Picotron.exe is infected with any Trojan. (Or at least that is what I want to believe :)

Probably since it is a binary that contains some scripting engine, it raises some alarms in some AV software. But in any case it would be nice to have a real confirmation from the picrotron developers themselves.

My bitdefender finally detected the trojan and deleted the exe a few days ago... I'm waiting for a clean release of picotron for Windows.
Not sure if Zep knows about the problem in Windows version

I just sent him an email

Thanks @misterjbam, can you keep us posted with the reply?
I was playing a little bit with Picotron before Windows Defender deleted it and I'm a little bit worried if it was harmful or not.

As I said before, I don't think so, but it would be ok to have a "official" confirmation that the binary was safe

Saw this thread and I did not have any problems with 0.1.0f until this thread scared me from actually being excited for the fantasy machine. (which was a few hours into going mad with downloading several carts to my Amiga-lookin funny thingy.) I fear about viruses like how Superman would try not to get jumpscared by kryptonite - so of course when I saw this, I trembled and I looked EVER-SO-CLOSELY at my appdata folder. (im on windows, so yeah I have the right to be piss-scared.)

I now have downgraded to 0.1.0e and I'm not even gonna try to touch it too much until this gets cleared up, hopefully for good. I even tried to contact zep on Mastodon (https://mastodon.online/@loser9000/112232000626606622), but I'm guessing that posting stuff like this is just... maybe pathetic? I don't know.

So what I'm really getting at here, is PLEASE UPDATE ME ON THIS THREAD I DON'T WANT ANOTHER VIRUS, COME ON MAN.

zep and lexaloffle are trustworthy. if you download over https with a good browser (firefox), you hare no reason to fear. anti-virus programs are not perfect, that’s all.

BUT THE SPOOKS OF THEVARUS™ LEECHES LIKE THE RED SCARE WOULD.

IT NIBBLES ME AWAY UNTIL I TURN GREY.

bumping the thread. sorry m8.

UPDATE: I just scanned Picotron version 0.1.0g on VirusTotal.
