UPDATE: Looks like either Itch or this person deleted the Itch account.

Remember that person from a couple days ago who was reposting the games of others, changing the author info but nothing else? Seems like their account here is gone, but it looks like that person also uploaded those games to itch.io. The usernames are different but they're mostly the same games, so I assume it's the same person. Probably worth reporting if one of these is your game! I know @RyanC and @krajzeg are among the targeted.

They even renamed Slipways to Symfowaves to throw people off the scent I guess?

Should have named it Symfowaves from the start :)

This is...baffling. Like, they don't seem to be trying to sell them (maybe they're accepting donations?) and Pico-8 doesn't seem like it's a terribly good target for distributing malware. The community's fairly small so you've got to figure people would recognize the games and know you're not the one who created them even if you weren't dumb enough to post them to the BBS first. Which they, apparently, were....

So why do this? I don't get it. I mean, it's a crappy thing to do regardless but it seems both crappy and pointless.

Reported them all to itch.io, included links to the real authors posts

Thank you, I had been checking myself on Itch as I was expecting this. I will report my own games. The funny thing is Tiny Rogue does have some leeway due to the Creative Commons and MIT licenses I have used, but they failed to abide by even those few requirements. The other game has all rights reserved, so yeah, no.

The page is gone now. Not sure if Itch deleted it or this person did, either way this particular pirate ship has been sunk.
