Picophobia(Phasmophobia Demake)
I love the original game and the genre it has kicked off. So for it´s anniversary i made a Pico8-Version that you can play with two people. I used AFBUs great raycasting engine(https://www.lexaloffle.com/bbs/?pid=13195#p) and modified it a bit to fit my needs(mainly being a splitscreen game). I´m still working on incorporating sprites, but we´ll see wether i can figure out the math in the future. Any help would be appreciated!
Use X in the Van to equip the different tools and write down your findings in your Journal (press O)
Have fun, tell me about your sightings and feel free to modify or add levels!
not sure you started from the right raycasting engine.
you can do full screen raycasting without halving resolution nor fisheye artifacts
suggest to look at Mot dungeon crawler
Hi freds! I looked trough a lot of approaches, and there are major differences. This one is easy to configure, easy to use with maps and very nicely structured. Others might have looked better but were either harder to use, much longer code(leaving less room for ghost stuff) or too slow for my needs. I do like Mot´s approach, but this was an ease of use thing. Maybe ill revisit it sometime :)
I tried every level but could not find a van or any way to change equipment. What am I missing?
@UnitVector
It`s not exactly HD, so i understand why you couln't find it^^ You start out in the van, there is equipment on the wall. You stand in front of the wall, press a button, and get the corresponding item. There are only 3 items, the thermometer, the EMF and the Spiritbox. Hope it helps, enjoy!(And try the splitscreen, if you want)
So I went into the code to see if I could write in fisheye correction, when I discovered that it already HAD fisheye correction? But after some playing around, I discovered that the fisheye correction is only when the player is standing still. I'll see if I can try to tweak that.
Hi! Do note that this specific raytracer was not created by me but by this person
And if i remember correctly the code had an option that would tweak the "processing" when not standing still
