Beet 'em Up is an arcade style high-score chaser about throwing beets at your enemies!
Press left and right to move, O to jump, and X to pluck/throw beets. You can aim your beets up or down by pressing a direction before throwing.
This game was made in just a few hours for the Global Game Jam 2023. I decided to do a small update to give the player animations.
is it possible to hit a one height creature since the turnip is at 2 height
yeah, you just need to hit something else so that the beet goes straight down
You can actually aim the beet to throw it straight up or down, even while mid jump! The idea is to jump over the slimes, aim down, and dunk a beet on top of their head.
A very nice little game! It was a little tricky to get used to the jump mechanics, but it became very fun once I did, and dealing with each of the enemies is unique and fun in their own way. My high score so far is 32.
It's a fun idea. I just wish I could change my direction while in the air. I kept making jumps where I just knew I was going to die but couldn't so anything about it. Frustrating.
