My Pico-8 interpretation of the 1983 Activision game for the Atari 2600.

How to Play

Shoot all 15 UFOs to clear a sector.

Collect glowing power-ups but, if you shoot them, don't let them hit you!

Here now, @pahammond. Please allow auto-fire which is available in the original game by holding down the single firing button.

Also your game seems a bit harder and more aggressive than the original. Please compare enemy speeds and patterns at level 1:

Perhaps create new EASY level. Further the Atari 2600 had only one firing button. While you can launch the bombs in the swarm on the original Atari by pressing UP, it was never an advantage to do so to hit the regular swarm ships as you only had 3 at the start, and they only did the same damage as the main cannon. Those bombs instead were reserved for the Mothership that appears between swarm stages and only those bombs could take it down.

Suggest only one firing button for swarm level and both for Mothership level.

The bombs were not even renewed when you lost a life and started a new ship - that's how valuable they were.
