This is a fantastic action puzzle game! The "line of sight" mechanism seems familiar, but I'm curious what your inspirations were for this game. The theming also works extremely well, with the graphics and sound really adding to the experience. This could have been turned into a great Game Boy / Game Gear puzzler back in the day.

I have a question about solving Level 5.

With regard to the attached image on the left, it seems that you need to kill Guard 1 or Guard 2 to reach the heart. More specifically, the red arrows from 1 and 2 form a perimeter around the heart. However, you can't kill Guard 2 without first killing Guard 3, and you can't kill Guard 1 without first killing Guard 2, as shown by the green arrows. But Guard 3 is also protected by Guard 1 and Guard 2. So we have the following cyclic dependencies:

  • To kill Guard 1 you must first kill Guard 2.
  • To kill Guard 2 you must first kill Guard 3.
  • To kill Guard 3 you must first kill Guard 1 or 2.

Other guards can be killed (attached image right), but this doesn't seem to help.

Am I missing something about the mechanics of the game? Or am I overlooking a strategy that would work? Or is there a problem with the level? If the answer is yes to the second question, then feel free to offer a hint!

Reminds me a little of Metal Gear Solid for Gameboy Color, @Luk4i. Has that kind of "line-of-sight" mechanic to it.

Well done. Gold star for you.

This game is amazing.

The puzzles are tough (but fair :-)

I love the way the sound effects are in the same key as the theme tune, and blend into the music.

Wow, level 8 is hard!

re: Level 5. I didn't properly understand one of the game's rules. I thought that you couldn't turn a guard into a ghost so long as another guard would see the change. However, that's not the case. The only rule is that a guard cannot see you. So in the attached figure, it is possible to change Guard 1 into into a ghost, so long as you are standing in a place that Guard 2 doesn't see you. This all makes sense now.

(I was always pushing in the direction of the guard when I would turn it into a ghost, and so I would immediately walk one pixel in that direction and be seen #usererror.)
