This is our contribution to the Outline 2019 demoparty (See https://www.pouet.net/party.php?which=652&when=2019 for the other entries, there were other PICO-8 stuff). It's also my first ever PICO-8 cart. :-) And it's a birthday demo to @xxx!

Detailed credits and more info are on Pouet.

Thanks to @Nodepond for his pic2pico.rb script and to @kometbomb for his fadetable. Greetings to @jobe. :-)

EDIT: fixed link for Outline 2019, looks like the formatting code doesn't like having the ampersand character (&) in URLs...:(

Thanks for the greetings! :) Very nice demo, great portrait of XXX right there, and I very much like the dithering in the 3D object. I'll have to take a look at your code once I have the time :)

Oh, how nice seeing someone to use my converter script in an actual demo!

Thanks a lot for this awesome to wish me a happy birthday. That was quite a surprise to see it in Outline's compo.

Thanks to everyone involved and of course greetings to @jobe.

@jobe the 3D obj and all related code were done by hellfire actually. I was mostly the "glue" in this project who polished and linked everything together :-)

I am not sure about the link you posted in the description to outline-party. For me it always shows a random outline party, and not the 2019-version.

Maybe you look up the link again. This worked for me: https://www.pouet.net/party.php?which=652&when=2019

@jobe: The dithering uses 16 4x4 patterns of an ordered bayer matrix to create additional steps in between neighbouring colors of a linear color gradient.
The fractional bits (0x.f) of the shading value determine which pattern to use.
The integer part (0xf.0) tells the gradient index.

@Nodepond yeah the BBS engine somehow ate one of the characters in the URL, typed it out and that seems to work. Thanks for the tip!
