Controls
Menu: Up arrow to go to instructions page. Up arrow again to start game.

Game: Up/down/left/right arrows to move. Z to set off green shockwave, X to set off blue shockwave.

Mechanics
Shockwaves will sweep away the rocks of the same colour, but your ship is vulnerable to either kind so you had better sweep carefully! Watch the cooldown marker in the bottom left corner.

Commentary
Bah I was doing so well with my 2D board game thing from a few nights ago but I really didn't have enough time to make it happen so this came together just today. It's an awful mess in many ways but came out better than it might have done.

It's kind of a problem that the rocks can spawn on top of you and kill you instantly.

But of course you can't make a rule that they can't spawn on top of you, or else the person just sits still and sweeps forever.

Maybe make it so the rocks will never spawn within N pixels of the player, but the rocks that have spawned always slowly gravitate towards the player's position? That would make movement important.

Edit: Meh, no, I hacked that in and it just turned it into a kiting game. Maybe if the rocks all moved along random trajectories, like in Asteroids...

@Felice Yeah. I thought about that a lot, but to be fair I wouldn't have had enough time to actually make the ideas I had work. I think it's probably the best move to spawn them in sections of the screen not occupied by the player or something? Rather than just have a potential ring of them appear directly around the player. But then add something to incentivise movement, like 'defend these things from the rocks' or 'the rocks move now'.

Thanks for playing and leaving feedback though, I appreciate it! :)
