My BBS level and template were accessuble by everyone you stole it and made it yours.

BTW everyone knows it's me that found it + it's only to help that I found it not to fight over stealers.

you posted first only bragin about that you did it, no level model or anything just the brab, as I said when I said I didn't see it on the bbs, but now is there so you can say that your level came first.

I see how this is:

BlindDevil managed to discover the custom weapon feature but never managed to put up a level showing it, nor say how he did it (although I may be wrong on this part). Kling also managed to get the custom weapon character model working, and since he had free time and BlindDevil didn't he was able to post a level showing the custom weapon, however he only vaguely said how to do it.

Later, BlindDevil put out a little tutorial on how to make custom weapons with the previous character model and also put up his level like he said he would when he had the time. He also noticed Kling's post on it and took offense, for he "discovered it first."

Here's what I think: BlindDevil should Indeed get the credit, but Kling does have kudos for putting up an actual "prototype". However, since now BlindDevil has a "prototype" of his own, Kling's level is now obsolete.

Usually when the "first discoverer" makes a working model of his own, any other working models are discredited. Sorry Kling, I know you were trying to help, but Blind has all the rights to it now. He even said in his "brag post" that his level was COMING UP, so you should have waited instead of posting your own. He WAS going to make it real sooner or later. Yes, you should also have given him credit for the idea, too, and maybe told us how to do it, maybe Blind would've shared the credit with you then?

To recap: BlindDevil discovered it first, but Kling had a level with a working model ready first. Then Blind put up his own level of it and discredited Kling's level because Kling made the mistake of not giving Blind credit for the idea.

Moral of the story: Ask permission for everything, even for helping to prove discoveries

Man, in this situation it's so vital to give people the benefit of the doubt. It's entirely plausible that Kling independently discovered the hack later on, so no need to charge in with the abrasive theft language. I can totally understand why you'd feel miffed blinddevil (it's a really, really neat hack!), but I think just a friendly "Hey, I was going to post that!" would have sufficed. Great minds think alike, and all that.

Anyway, it seems you guys have resolved this on your own, and I appreciate that. I'm sure you have better thing to spend energy on, so let's just close the thread with a round of internet high-fives.
