This is my first proper game and I couldn't be more thrilled with how it turned out!

It's Chess, but jazzed up a bit.

Instead of capturing pieces, you now have to attack and reduce the piece's HP to zero.

Each type of piece now also has special skills that cost SP (skill points).

The board has been expanded a bit to allow for additional shenanigans.

Each piece moves the way you would expect it to, however on each turn, there are two phases.

You can select how you use these phases (moving, attacking, using a skill, or passing your turn).

Each piece type has a different HP and SP max.

All attacks (except for one in particular) deal 1 damage.

Here is a rundown of the piece skills:

Pawn - Dodge (1 SP) - Essentially an additional move. Move one space in any direction.
Rook - Cannon (1 SP) - Attack all pieces in a straight line (including your own).
Knight - Archery (1 SP) - Normal attack, but with a much larger range.
Bishop - Heal (3 SP) - Heal one piece for 2 HP.
Queen - Execute (7 SP) - Remove one piece from the board, regardless of current HP.
King - Restore (5 SP) - Restores 5 SP to all your team's pieces (except the king).
Z confirms, X cancels.

In order to win, you must either kill the king, or kill all other pieces but the king (effectively capturing him).

This is intended to be played with two players (no room for a CPU player) and rather than having it use two controllers, it's a "pass back and forth" kind of game.

I had so much fun making this! I can't believe how nice it turned out!
