Finally finished my first game. Particle effects were modified from this awesome post https://www.lexaloffle.com/bbs/?tid=53826 and, after adding them, i realised that there's probably a lot i can do to clean up the code so any brutal code review is obviously welcome.
"Catch mice, break everything, do whatever you want, you're in charge... you are a cat after all :)"

Cute cat and fun gameplay! Getting the mice are challenging for me ha. I still need to get all the endings.
I’m learning collision detection and looking at your code for some good ideas.

thanks:) i wouldn't take my code as good practice but you're welcome to use it.
I had trouble getting the cat to move in all directions when pressed against an object. the code looks like i should be able to use for loops instead of while loops but the collisions ended up being different, idk why. its something to look out for

So fun!
I love the pounce mechanic. The learning curve is easy to grasp (how long should I hold down this button? Where will the mouse be when I'm ready to leap?), and it also presents a few directions to go with the mechanic, too.
There's a future game where the pounce could be telegraphed in some way, like the dotted line arc of a grenade toss.
Or, perhaps leaving that out is the point! Knocking over furniture and other items felt perfect for a kitten to do, and it also made me, the player, excited to make a mess, just to see what all was interactable.
I'm really glad I stumbled into this game! It made my day :)
