Please read all of this. It'll only take a minute and it'll teach you how to use this cart.
The ultimate cake factory!
Build your own production line! You can use conveyor belts, springs, antigravity zones, and more!
How to get started:
open the cart file in your pico-8 editor. (Sadly, an in-game editor has not yet been implemented in this version). Go to the map editor! To summon cakes, place a green dispenser. To move the cakes, use various tools to build a path, such as conveyor belts, springs, and antigravity zones. Once a cake finishes its journey, the only way to delete it is to drop it out of the world.
THINGS TO NOTE:
-To turn off the 3D map, change MAP_3D in the _INIT() function to FALSE.
-To increase or decrease the maximum amount of cakes, edit the number near the end of the _UPDATE() function.
-The lighter metal blocks are solid but have no unique gimmick, while the darker ones are just background and serve for aesthetics.
-Each animated map tile has 2 sprites. While it ultimately does not matter, try to use the leftmost one.
-Left and right conveyor belts work from both the top and bottom. The spring only works from the top.
-Use the arrow keys to control the camera.
I WILL consider requests for the second update, but here are some things I'm planning already:
-Conveyor belts that can flip from left to right if a switch is activated
-In-game editor
Hope you have a great time!
Cake! Cute silly lil system, I think making levels with fixed start and end points and limited supplies to get cakes between those places would be really fun if you wanna try that once you have an in-game editor.
