Every other file it automatically loads into the cart directory but it doesn't do that with the alpha demos and I can't find them anywhere in the game's folder. I can't find the carts online to download them

Are you saying "tnx" because you found it? (maybe in the '.lexaloffle/Voxatron/carts' or '.lexaloffle/Voxatron/bbs' directories)
no, I haven't found it. I've checked those directories, but nothing in there, both directories are empty..
I found Voxatron/internal_carts.txt which has a list of all demo carts with some numbers to it, for example, first line looks like this: "|1 |101 |101 |zep | |snow dragon"
I guess they must be encoded somewhere and those numbers to load them by reference.
Also, there is Voxatron.app/Contents/MacOS/vox.dat file, which doesn't seems like a cart, but perhaps several carts could be packed together?
vox.dat is most probably similar to pico8.dat
It’s some data needed by the executable to function; it could be embedded in the executable but maybe separate file is more convenient to compile or edit for zep.
