Description:
In this game you play as a monkey who LOVES BANANAS! As all monkeys he's willing to solve outrageous puzzles to get some bananas.
Controls:
(<) and (>) keys to move
(up) or (O) to jump
Push boxes by walking into them
Climb by touching vine and pressing (up) or (down)
ALL LEVELS ARE UNLOCKED FROM THE START!!!
really fun game, but i think it'd be nice to have a timer so we could speedrun
nice game. i would second the suggestion of a timer, and would also prefer having jump on O rather than up. i kept pressing X to jump at first because i assumed the menu confirmation button would be the jump button and mistook the death animation for a jump and didn't understand why the character's position was resetting.
I have just updated the game adding a speedrun timer telling you how many levels you beat and how fast you beat all of them when you reach the end. I have also made it so you can jump with buttons (O) and (up).
That's actually a pretty good time for a first speedrun! This is my best time so this is the time to beat
nice update! having the timer makes every move very tense. 2:24 seems really good. my routing is obviously not optimal.
got a 2:34. execution was slow in the later levels, so i will try to improve it again but i don't know if i can save another 10 seconds.

Very good time! I managed to get a time of 2:07 with your route with a few changes. I sadly don't have youtube so I don't have a video but I do have a picture. I think there's still time to save as I missed a few jumps in a couple levels so it might be possible to get below 2 minutes
got it down to 2:01. the sub 2 is definitely possible, but i don't think my nerves are up to attempts.

Wow that's a really fast time! The fastest time I've gotten is 1:52. It's going to take a while to beat your time!
I decided to try again at the record and I managed to save 4 seconds after many attempts. My movement was a little sloppy at the end so I'm guessing it's possible to save a few seconds more

@UpTwice Fire Temple and Ice Mountain has one too. In fact, pico-8 is listed as a platform on src, so you can see the leaderboards for most pico-8 games here if there are other developers' games you'd be interested in speedrunning:
