Added the ability to buy multi hits and multi casts. Now showing stat bonuses on the Derek screen and fixed a bug that could crash wave advancement.
Tried and not sure I understand how to play.
How long should I wait before something happens?
Gameplay wise, this is really menu-heavy, I know this must be true to the original but games have come a long way since then...
Hi freds72, fair point it’s not entirely intuitive so I’ll write some instructions up and add them to the post later. The basic flow is buy items > go to the swords icon to battle an enemy on the field > battle > heal at the first store > repeat
This was also one of my favourite shareware games from back in the day! Thank you for doing this!
Maybe there's a better place for bug reports, but the game crashes whenever I try to use the fire breath potion. Let me know if there's a better way that I can help.
Thanks for the feedback deadmeat, I’ll have a look this weekend and get back to you if I am having trouble reproducing the issue.
I didn't expect such a quick reply! Cheers!
If it helps, it was always on wave 1 when using the fire breath potion. I just had a similar crash when trying to use the heal potion on my first time getting to wave 2.
I'll provide errors if you want them.
Wouldn’t hurt to see some screenshots of those two if you have time. Thanks!
I'm not really sure what the best way to get screenshots to you would be. I can do this:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/wok3ee2esiophjn/Heal.png?dl=0
Let me know if there's a better way for you.
Thanks that worked 👍
Edit: @deadmeat the fixes didn't take long to implement, so I've uploaded a new version of the cart now.
Awesome!
I still died at the hands of a lowly orc, but no crashes! I shall continue the fight to bring Torque to final justice!
Thank you, again, for your efforts in reviving this game. I'm enjoying reliving this piece of history!
Alright, in hopes of being helpful, here's a new one:

I think the context was that I was on wave 2, Level 3, I had just defeated a pair of goblins and was attempting to purchase a Cure Light from the temple.
Hm that one is less obvious what has tripped it over and I couldn't reproduce it. If it happens again maybe let me know if you went to other shops/bought items before that too.
EDIT: or perhaps it’d be easier to save a gif when it crashes. Think it’s F4 on your keyboard?
Alright, here we go! I think I've managed to recreate it.

I was on Wave 4 and had run away from a battle with an orc and a hobgoblin. I went straight to the temple and attempted a Cure Light when it bombed out. I'm wondering if maybe it's related to the prior battle having two enemies. The other stats that I can remember:
Two-handed sword
Breastplate
extra hit
I had boosted Con, Str, Dex
Max HP: 30
I had used a fiery breath potion recently, which was a little unusual. I mostly stick to Extra Healing and Heal potions.
I'll try out the f4 thing the next time I play. I've been having great fun, by the way! I play a game every day or two and it's been great fun! Not to mention, a lot more stable recently. Thanks again for your work!
@deadmeat thanks that’s some good details and I’ll spend some time trying to track it down. Do you use the save/load functionality while playing? Was this the first game in a session or had you died/started again in the same instance of the game?
Also I’m glad you’re enjoying it! Spent a fair bit of time building this up mainly for my own entertainment but it’s great to hear someone else is getting some fun out of it!
I don't usually use the load/save, but I did this time. The error occurred just a few battles after a reload. Maybe the third battle?
@deadmeat I figured out how to reproduce it. Buy more potions than the items in a menu list (ie 4 or more for the temple), use one of the potions in a battle greater than or equal to that number, run from battle and open the menu, the game will crash. I’m not properly resetting the list position I reuse in menus when running from a battle and it’s trying to highlight a menu option that doesn’t exist.
I’ll work on a fix tonight.
EDIT: Uploaded a new version of the cart with the fix. It was just a one line change in the end 👍
