PS does anyone live near an arcade or a place that has arcade games like in a movie theatre lobby?
Wow, the future seems close indeed! Really freakin' awesome. This is what Voxatron is all about. Congrats on the great progress!
Awesome indeed!
Can it play BBS levels? I'd love to see you play the Reaper's dungeon, or the King's quest level. Heck, you could try Starship Combat Demo if you want!
yes - it can play BBS levels.. maybe i will make a thread where people can request/vote on levels to be tested on voxiebox
Sean, Is the Voxiebox a volumetric display that connects to an existing computer system (PC/Mac) or will it be a complete console in its own right?
I am a "maker" who normally spends my time with 3D printers and Electric cars (I work at the university of Sussex in England), The Voxiebox and volumetric projection along with my love of retro gaming has gotten me very interested in volumetric tech & voxel based gaming.
Any ideas when you might launch the first consumer/beta test units?
I am showing at BMMF (Brighton Mini Maker Fair) this September fancy coming over and showing of the Voxiebox in Brighton England?
Oh and in case you had not guessed your Voxiebox is awsome.
Graham
Hi Graham,
Thank you for your praise of Voxiebox! We are working hard to bring the awesome to people worldwide - thank you for your patience, it will be a long process but well worth the wait.
Thanks for your invitation to England! We'd love to be there but it won't be possible this year unfortunately. Potentially we will have a presence at Maker Faire here in New York this September though. What will you be showing at the BMMF?
We are begining to make rentals of our prototypes and arcade units available in the US this summer --- consumer units are a way off. Perhaps you could find a home for a Voxiebox at your university --- is there a game, visualization, or art department, etc that might be interested and could get funding to acquire one? ... or a student activity center with a game room that would want Voxatron powered by Voxiebox?
Feel free to get in contact at [email protected] and I can answer more questions if you like.
Sean
