Title: Cube Fusion
This is a project I've been working on for a little while. I will make some changes based on the feedback I get and then post the final version. You won't be able to play this in the editor. There are some glitches that prevent you from going forward, but if you reset the room it usually fixes it. I've played through this 2 times, so all the doors should work correctly and every room can be completed.
I made the game so you can't jump or pick up any cubes, so if you can there is something wrong.
I made this to experiment with puzzle ideas and discovered that there is infinite possibilities. Please try to use the ideas I came up with in your levels or create all new puzzle concepts.
Haha cubetastic!
I loved how the gameplay is well balanced but at some point making the cubes behave while placing them was quite hard expecially when there were no lasers
I usually listen to feedback, so if you have a suggestion to make a room better or to make one not so annoying I will find a way to change it. There is sometimes multiple ways to complete a room, and it is possible to play the game without losing any lives. Maybe in a few weeks I will upload a walkthrough on YouTube.
I don't really have the need for it, the puzzles are quite simple, only one or to left me thinking, one thing that I find quite anoying is the timiming during the puzzles, is not something that you can control by strategy so is really anoying, nest time you upload a level like this you could look out also when you cross two areas you find yourself having a hard time placing the cube on the intersection, so it would be nice to avoid a cross, instead just leave the middle of the interseccion one voxel down so it can be easier to place the cube, just my opinion.
I'm not sure that you mean. I designed the puzzles with different concepts and taught the player how to use them in some specific rooms that I designed to be easy. Maybe people will play this in ways I'm not aware of, which would be interesting to see. I did make some levels hard in the sense that I made a cube a time mechanism that if you didn't figure out fast enough the level would be impossible to complete. I did find these a little annoying myself. Is this what you mean?
no, that was an interesting idea, the problem , for example is that on one of the final rooms you have to push several blocks in a speed that requires too much timing, for example, you taught the player well, the only problem with placement with cubes are on intersections in the form of + the cube ends up stuck there, thats what I mean.
Ok, this I am aware of. I designed the puzzle so that the player would need to hold the block in place for the laser to move it. Sometimes the blocks get stuck and you can't do anything about it, and in that case I found that restarting the level sometimes fixes this or changing a different frequency laser. I will try to make these parts better.
Hi i havent been at the console for awhile, this looks cool. I will have a go!
Yep i finally got around to playing this one. Cool idea, the first game in awhile to be completely abstract. Its fun and reminded me a little of that cube game EDGE... nice look to it all.
I've found an issue with your map. When faced with a hole at a corner, you can get over it it without putting a block in by doing a >^ corner rounding sort of deal. I think eventually being able to edit the player's hitbox should fix any cheating.
Great map, puzzles in voxels just seem plain cool.
Hobhob, yes I found this out half way through making it and made it apart of the game later on. In the later levels I forced the player to cross gaps, and then in the next level showed how it would be impossible to cheat. If I can edit the players hitbox it may break the game, but I would like to find out.
Zep this level stop working and this is one of my fav...
there is a bug where cubes are no longer line up correctly and that causes player to get stuck. I tried to fix it or and rebuild it, but running into the same problem. What do you recommend?
I actually found a work around, so I will attempt to update cube fusion so it works in 3.2...
