Slide around 5 challenging boards, merging hexagons into matching triangles.

Mesmerizing and contemplative game play rewards thinking ahead and changing your plans. Chill music is chill.
Post your high scores in the comments! These levels are beatable, at least the first three.

Pretty self explanatory if you play around a bit.

This is my first Pico 8 game and the first thing I've programmed since high school 20X6 years ago.

Advanced Rules:

Blocks merge up the rainbow: purple -> blue -> green -> yellow -> orange -> red
Blocks slide in 6 directions and merge once they finish moving.
You cannot tilt the same direction twice in a row.
Blocks merge into the column in the falling direction with 2 merging blocks.

Wow! Very cool, really polished and juicy (and amazing title screen). It's like a mix of Twelvesmith (for iPhone) and 2048.

I hadn't heard of Twelvesmith before, but hexagonal 2048 was definitely the kernel of an idea for Hexo. Perhaps I'll revisit it later with specialty blocks. I've spent embarrassingly long on this though, time to code something else!

It's sad to me that when people talk about this puzzle game style, they don't mention Threes at all. 2048 was a clone of a clone released a month after that game's long development, and it stole the spotlight because it was free.

Ah, what a great little game! Very chill and satisfying to play. Merging is evidently addictive. ^^

The music reminds me of "Orinoco Flow" by Enya :)

Good ears, that's definitely an "Orinoco Flow" demake.

14698 on Hexo! I was a little confused when (rot13) gur tencuvpf fhqqrayl punatrq orpnhfr V'q sbezrq n 5-urk naq jba gur fgntr, but that was darn cool, actually.

Is it possible for a future version to save settings in cartridge data? I'd like to leave colorblind mode on by default.

relaxing!

@packbat, my better half has added option settings to the cart data when it became clear I wouldn't. Congrats on your victory. Try the tiny board, it's a very tight and difficult puzzle, very different then the main hexo board.

This is quite nicely done, and while I'm not a huge fan of this type of game this is an interesting take on it. I also quite like the main level theme (though the alt one when

everything goes dark felt too repetitive, and I have no idea what the significance of that "state" was
)

I like everything about this game. The intro, the cover music, the thoughtful credits, the color palette, and the blissful and addictive gameplay. Put a big stupid smile on my face.

very chill
