This is just a small loop I've been working on which I plan to put in one of my games, but thought I'd upload it to see what others think. It doesn't use any custom instruments and so far any additional layers I've attempted to add (drums, other melodies, etc.) haven't really sounded right. I'm curious if folks think this loop stands on its own enough or if it would become annoying to listen to after a while. Any general feedback is welcome.
In my opinion, this sounds excellent. It's atmospheric, and varied enough that it doesn't grow stale after a couple of listens. I think it would be fine to include in your game as-is.
It stands up to a bit of listening in the background - I can't speak to how it would feel after an extended period of time but it doesn't become annoying quickly for sure. I like it.
I suck at making music so IDK if I have the best say but I like it!
Thank you all for the kind words. It's easy to quickly lose perspective when writing music so I appreciate the feedback. I figure if it's been stuck in my head non-stop like it has been that's probably a good sign, ha.
I'm still learning all the ins and outs of the music editor so I'm pretty happy with where it's at given my limited knowledge of the system. This is quickly becoming my favorite tracker.
I think it sounds great. The only thing that can even identify it as a loop is that it kinda shifts between two phases, and I don't think that's a problem. I've played commercial games with more much more obvious, and thus annoying loops. You're good to go, I think.
Also, I like the BG effect in this demo. :)
bro this flippin rips! glad i found it. reminds me of megadeth :)
