Alternate between classic platforming and controlling a fast sliding shell.
Originally based on the Nerdy Teachers platformer tutorial.

Update 4/11/20:

  • Added a jump buffer (5 frames on 30 FPS)
  • Less sliding when not shelled
  • Leftover pickups now get removed after game won.

Controls:
Gamepad / Keyboard:
Move: D-Pad or Left joystick / Arrow keys
Shell: ❎ / X or V
Jump: 🅾️ / C or Z

@Meep Damn! I didn't think it would be possible to finish that fast, but this makes me happy :) Thanks for the feedback! I'll get back to this it sooner or later, but I'm working on other stuff in between.

@Mikel_Hofer48 Thank you so much, i will! I did recently start working on it again, and I'm hoping for my own sake too that it won't take too long :D But I'm really enjoying making it and want to try my best to make it enjoyable.

(Petition for a boss fight and the end of this game)

@Mikel_Hofer48 I wasn't planning on adding enemies, but your idea got me thinking about a final level / room that could be fun. Let's see, or maybe it will have to wait for a sequel:D
At least at some point I want to make a boss fight in Pico-8 (shout-out to Just One Boss)!

Spent all day trying to beat the 23.9 I saw. After all day of strat hunting to get my time down, I got this.

Hey just found this and thought it was really fun!
I was thinking that there is still possibility to explore the different states. Like to have water that you can survive in in shell form and you die if you fall in/turn to walking form.
