Hello!
I've just started working in P8 and I've noticed that audio doesn't seem to work inside the editor or while running the game. However, it does work when I'm using Splore. I've looked through the forums but haven't been able to find anyone else who's had an issue like this, so I hope it isn't just an issue with my computer.

Hi @AstronautPug, what OS are you using ? Macintosh, Linux, Windows ? And what version ?

Windows 10 Home 10.0.18362, I'm using the latest version of Pico-8.

You have the same OS as me. Should work fine.
Here, shut down ALL pico-8 tasks you have running. Make sure none are running in the background.

Now bring one up.

Bring up a cart that plays audio constantly in the background. One that you can hear in SPLORE but not in immediate mode. Let it run. Now RIGHT click on the SPEAKER in the bottom-right-hand corner of your Windows display screen.

Select Open Volume Mixer.

In there check to find the Pico-8 icon and see that the volume there is set to a high enough level you can hear it. Let me know if this solves it or if for some reason there is no Pico-8 icon listed there.

I can hear audio in game (maybe I messed something up in my code when I tried on my own game) but I'm still getting complete silence in the SFX editor.

In the SFX editor, make sure the cursor is at the top-left-hand corner and hit SPACEBAR to listen to that SFX.

Is it still silent ? ... and did you verify the icon appearing and showing sound activity in the VOLUME MIXER ?

...Welp, that was the issue. Thanks for the help.

Ah ! Good deal. Glad to help. Nice that was the difficulty. I didn't think it was Pico. It's a pretty stable engine at that, never failed on me yet.
