controls: just one button "z"
ODEF is a retro-arcade inspired game developed at Global Game Jam 2019 by Miray Çolakoğlu, Iskender Erdem, Ahmet Kerem Gündüz and Görkem Bozkurt(me)
This is the first game I made, and I had a lot of fun making it. Any feedback is welcome!
It's developed for a fantasy hardware that I've build called the One-Thumb Entertainment System(OTES)
<br>
OTES is basically a raspberry pi zero running pico8, attached to a mini CRT display viewfinder of an old JVC camera from the 80s. It has only one button("z").
The hardware is the first prototype and is a bit messy. I plan to 3d print an enclosure for the whole system in the future.
The code is not organized, I didn't have time to check it. I'll update it soon tho.
Cool! At first I thought the bubbles were way too powerful since they didn't burst upon contact with the first object and just passed through to any behind it, but then the game sped up so rapidly that I didn't think that anymore.
Hi , sorry if this is a basic question, but how did you get the Button on the RPi to register as "z"? Is the pico8 running on raspbian?
love this concept and I bet the game looks sweet through that lens .
Hey, I used an Arduino Micro to act as a keyboard which is connected to the button. And yep it is running on raspbian.
