Here's a Pico-8 ray tracer with the amazing ability to render both spheres AND planes.

Let it run all the way through even though the colors will be funky at first. After it renders the image, it will switch to high-color mode.

Features:
-NEW High Color Mode
-Spheres
-Planes
-Textures (2d)
-Diffuse and Specular Shading
-Shadows
-Reflections

-ElectricGryphon

This killed my desktop browser tab dead, but I got a 'frame' and a half out of it first - the speed & quality is really impressive.

I had the same problem in the browser, but it doesn't seem to hang in the app. I wonder if this is a bug related to the site update.

Yep, works fine in the app here too.

Added high-color rendering, which uses temporal dithering at 60Hz in addition to spatial dithering. This allows for a much wider range of colors and shades

It may also cause headaches. But nothing ventured nothing gained.

Let the renderer run all the way through--it will show up as ugly colors at first because it's only showing half of the color palette.

Temporal dithering is clever, but I found looking at the picture to be uncomfortable :)

Really impressive!!
Btw I found it more comfortable when looking at the dithered picture without my glasses :D

squinting can stop the flashing. at least for me.
