Procedurally generated archery game, inspired by "Desert Golfing". My first effort at a Pico-8 game - came out pretty well I think!

Also on itch, with some basic mobile support - https://epbarger.itch.io/endless-archery

EDIT - I ended up turning this into a full-fledged iPhone game! https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/endless-archery/id1390437916

Great stuff - very addictive gameplay!
Heck of a start to your Pico-8 development.
Well done! :D

It's pretty fun, a good challenge, and the implementation feels nice and smooth, so kudos on that front.

Still, you need to jazz it up somehow, because it become monotonous after only a few screens. Not sure what you can do, though. Maybe some basic power-ups or some kind of survival mode that depletes/rewards arrows based on performance. I dunno, I'm better at fixing bugs than designing games. :)

@Liquidream - Thanks!

@Felice - I like the idea of depletable arrows. Maybe I'll work on a "Not So Endless" mode that includes some more mechanics

Surprisingly addictive gameplay. Well done! Nice and simple but very compulsive.

I kept trying to hit myself with an arrow.

Well I ended up turning this into a full fledged iPhone game, coming out November 14!

Well that is really neat! Good job with the terrain generation. it looks quite natural.

Thanks @hwd2002! Honestly, the algorithm is fairly simple. http://www.somethinghitme.com/2013/11/11/simple-2d-terrain-with-midpoint-displacement/ is a great explanation of how it works

Pretty neat ! You should get a real fanfare though if you hit the target on the first shot, either in the beginning of the game or right after you got one previously.

Agreed! I added that in the iPhone version - you get some nice confetti particles on hole-in-ones. I should add that to this version too! Haven't done particles in Pico-8 yet.

My son and I play this game all the time. Thanks!
