I just got pico-8, am running it in Windows 7, but I can't seem to find an option to either run it in a window, or to choose my second monitor to use it in (or preferably, both options!).
Is there a config file or something that I should be messing with?
Same for Voxatron. Only runs on the main display.
Any help appreciated!
You can definitely run it in a window. Push Alt + Enter
I don't know if there's a way to choose the monitor for fullscreen.
Ah, yes, I'm a total noob moron, didn't read the bit in "help" about that.
Would still be great to be able to choose what monitor it goes full screen on, also for Voxatron!
Thanks for your quick help!
Yeah, it should really go fullscreen on the monitor the center of the window is on, or maybe the center of the titlebar. Either way, it should be dynamic, not just the main monitor. Tons of people run multimon these days.
Yes, I tried making it go full screen when I moved the window to the second monitor, and it went to the main display.
So yeah, should this post be a suggestion, then? it would be great to be able to go full screen in whichever display the window is on.
Would also be cool if the window size would be saved on exit.
This is really weird as I have dual display and can get it to fullscreen on either one regardless of which is actually the "Main" at any given time.
Hmm, have you done anything to the config.txt file? I tried messing with it but can't get it to go fullscreen on my second display.
For the time being I have managed to configure it so I have a huge-ass window on the second monitor at startup, but that's as far as I got.
@kikendo: Nope, Just moved the window to the middle of the display I wanted it on and hit alt-enter.
@DR4IG: not working for me either, windows nor linux. are you running macos?
Silly me, I forgot to mention, I am trying to do this ins WINDOWS.
Thanks ultrabrite, for bringing it to my attention.
Double-silly then, I don't even remember what I wrote :P
Good to have confirmation that it doesn't work in Linux either.
I also tried changing full screen method between fullscreen window and regular fullscreen, same results.
Windows 10. Again, It's weird that no one else in the thread can do this. Very odd.
@Felice: The same way I mentioned above, Alt-enter. I know the difference between windowed and fullscreen. :P
Well no idea, I cannot get it to work at all.
How can one draw zep's attention to this matter?
Maybe with tags added to your thread like BUG or an @zep. He usually gets in here every so often when he can.
Sorry to revive such a long dead thread, but I am running pico8 on Xubuntu linux and am also finding when I do the "true" fullscreen (alt-enter) it only enters fullscreen mode on my laptop monitor and not my external display (which is, indeed, marked Primary in my display settings).
I'm able to "fake it" using some custom window-resizing tool I have but it is clear that it is not the true, built-in fullscreen. It works for now, but I'd love to see support for fullscreening on either monitor in linux. If there is a workaround besides my own personal hack, I am open to it.
There is a setting in the config file to make pico8 stop controlling the window position and let the window manager do it instead. I would try that!
