Reading about the educational license on the site it says:

"...allowing users who are teachers or administrators at a school, workshop, or other educational space to install and use the software on any computers in that space."

So, does that mean my existing license for PICO-8 is valid to use with my students at school, or do I have to purchase a new copy specifically tied to my school email address to use in school?

Thanks!

you're free to share the executable with your students :)

@rsbrowndog To elaborate, from the homepage of PICO-8: "Every copy of PICO-8 comes with a site-wide license for an entire school, workshop or other similar educational space."

Directly beneath that, it has a link to a page offering copies for students at 80% discount if you contact zep.

So, using it on school computers is valid with any copy, giving students a USB to take home or allowing them to download it for their own computers requires licensing for each student at 20% normal price.

Okay great, that was my take on it.

With my own license, I can install it on computers at my school and allow the children to use it, but I can not give them copies of the executable to take home and install on their own computers.

If you use your license on several computers in a class, what if a student take the binary on a key ?

Is there something special to register to allow them to have the student discount after a workshop ?
