Hello.

Is it possible to play Pico 8 games on my Android device? I have a GPD XD (http://www.gpdxd.com) and it's a great device for playing games.

So I thought it would be really great to play Pico 8 games on this handheld. I can start the games through the browser. But I can't control the games with the gamepad. And I don't find an app who can keymap keyboard buttons including the arrow buttons on the controller buttons.

Is there someone who have a good workaround?

Alternatively: A Pico 8 player for Android include native controller support would be a really dream come true. :D
Just download the .png files, put these on the SD card and open it with a Pico 8 player. ;-)

(Yeah, I know: There is this PocketCHIP thing. But for me it seems very unconfortable. I mean this device even don't have a real digital pad...)

Searching the forum for android, you'll come across this, which I believe is the closest one can get for now.

Or this : https://www.lexaloffle.com/bbs/?tid=2876
But it need some work...
Having a GPD-XD too, and thinking this is a great device for PICO-8 games.

is this a GPD-XD plug? o_O

Sorry, I do net get the pun...

If it's not, search for GPD-XD in google image ;)

Right, it's lightly portable. Grab a bluetooth keyboard or a Micro USB- USB adapter and plug one in. I play games in the web browser all the time

Came across this thread as I recently picked up the device and will say playing games via the browser on the GPD is a snap with the on screen controls and the GPD's ability to map to those with an overlay, And if you've got a decent connection to wifi you can always install the steamlink android app and stream a shortcut version from steam with the usual controller support working.

This is a great lil' device for pico-8.
