The theme for the second PICO-8 Jam was Chain Reaction, and there were 35 entries. Thanks to everyone who contributed and made this jam a another splendid event. I hope you'll join me in congratulating the winning entry, which received a whopping 7.3 PICO-8 star average.. theatrically opens invisible envelope

As a token of gratitude for laying down this most excellent cartridge, NuSan will be receiving a commemorative cross-stitch based on the cart.

Also highly rated by participants was another disarming production by JTE: Nora's Mouse Chase, and the beautifully chaotic SPACETANK 9000 by arnodick.

You can play all of the entries by clicking on this montage:

That was fun -- let's do it again sometime soon!

Of course and all the others too... Well done, guys !!

Thanks zep for the amazing pico-8 :-)
Will 0.1.7 be released soon? Sorry, I have to ask : it's pathological m(__)m

Congrats! Well deserved.

Can we see what our own games scored?

Thanks everyone, as always it was a great pleasure to do a jam using Pico 8. I had great feedback on the bbs too. I started using PicoLove hoping to make an Android version soon. I think the gameplay could work realy well with tactile. For now, here is a PicoLove windows standalone version, it's not perfect, but already good.ComboPool_01.zip

Big congrats to NuSan :) You really have a nice concept. I would put some different music (it gets annoying after a while) but for the rest I love it as it is. You deserved to win ^^

Congratz NuSan, Combo Pool rocks!!!

Good competition everyone, there were some really great carts in this batch.
I'm sure we all took some good learning experiences away from this.

GG NuSan! Well done!

Congrats NuSan! Quite an impressive game

I was very impressed with Combo Pool. I enjoyed it at every level of development (at least what was posted to the BBS) both taking careful slow shots and enjoying firing randomly into a soup of collisions to see what would happen. The graphics are very pleasant and use the limited pallet very well. Plus, it went nicely with the proposed theme. Looking forward to playing this on my PocketChip! added to favorites

Lots of very interesting entries this time around! Congratulations to NuSan, Combo Pool is a really fun concept with great presentation.

Awesome job everyone!

Congrats to NuSan for the win and a great game I continue to play often. It hit a sweet spot of challenge, fun, art and replay.

This was my first game jam ever and it really motivated me to do something I don't do often - make a (near) finished game experience. All too often I start down a road and get distracted. The jam kept me focused...looking forward to the next one.

So much great work! I was personally underwhelmed by the theme, but so many fun and interesting games showed up.

Unexpected weekend work stopped me from digging in, so I can't wait for the next jam. (technically I can wait for next month since I'm pretty busy until then)

Congrats to NuSan. I predicted Super Combo Pool would win :)

And great job everyone else too! I was glad to come up with something in time to submit it alongside your entries :)

I write somewhat regularly for a toy/game blog and just published an article about the game jam and Combo Pool. With all the great games being made for Pico-8, I'll be highlighting them a lot along with the other platforms.

Oh wow, amazing game! I just won, by connecting two pink bulbs!

*wonders when the next one will be...* :D

*zep said, soon...
