This is my first cartridge, and something I thought would be easy enough as a first game. I have done what I initially set out to do with this cart and then some. There have been some great concepts suggested in the comments, and I hope someone forks this project and creates their own with some of these modifications. If anyone has any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
Constructive criticism is always welcome.

Wait... am I trying to avoid the red blocks or smash into them?
(edit: OH! Ok sorta Katamari Damacy style!)
The sounds bring back lots of memories!
I love when you reach the threshold and become a big yellow square that eats everything... MUAHWHAHA COME TO BE EATEN, RED BLOCKS.
When you do reach that threshold, it's a bit too easy to win. Maybe add a type of block that hurts you no matter what size you are? Not that totally resets you, but maybe knocks you back a few sizes.
I think this is fun, thanks for making it.
I will agree with johnesco, I think "poison" squares would be fun.
Anyway, back to playing!
There has been a lot of angry yelling at red squares in my house. Any interest in making levels with different colors and directions of square flow?
Also, I do really like how you never really "die". Instead of rage quitting I just rage continue on.
Thanks again.
Thank you guys for the feedback and suggestions. I was working off of a well-known videogame type that's notoriously called fish-eat-fish (If you google it, you'll find plenty of flash versions). I'll admit, I'm torn between starting new projects and call this one complete enough to stand on its own or add in some of the things you guys have mentioned. Anyone here is welcome to take my code and remix it the way they see fit (Just don't forget to give me credit!), and please don't hesitate to ask me questions or hit me up in #pico8 in IRC about doing so.
I was unfamiliar with the type and upon review, I still believe your game is more interesting to me. I really enjoy the geometric abstraction.

None of the fish games inspired me a fraction of how much yours did. Also, without the fish concept, you could easily have a level that moved vertically instead of horizontally. I'm not sure I have the time right now to add such a level, but I am considering it mightily. Thanks again!
