This is excellent!

Good fun and great level of polish. Would definitely recommend.

yes! well done and fun to play - keep going!

@benvium This is a really fun game and I'm enjoying working my way through the levels. I assume that the computer cars are all set to particular standards (i.e. yellow always seems to win) ?
One minor quibble: whilst racing I'm generally holding down the "X" button. When the level ends, "X" is used to advance to the next level which initially would move me on before I was ready. Would it be better if this was "Z" instead?

@phil Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, at the moment each npc car color has it's own 'top speed' (pun intended) that's the same every race. Do you think it'd be more fun each each race or perhaps each cc class (50,100,150) had a different 'fastest' car? Regarding changing the button to start the next level - yeah I think that's a good idea. When I was getting my daughter to playtest this she was having the same issue too. If I get some time I'll push an update!

This is great! Great job balancing it, the car feels fun and responsive and a crash does not mean the end of your race. Good balance between forgiveness and skill.

Very fun with great retro vibes. "You hit [color]" was a nice touch to confirm off-screen hits!

Usually I am no big fan of top-down racers but this is brilliant!
Lots of fun to play and top notch designwork, well done.
P.S. The button issue mentioned by phil would be really nice to be solved.

Super nice arcade racing game!

Regarding x button issue when finishing the race I would suggest tracking if the button was already pressed when the player is finishing the race and only proceed to the next stage if the button was released and then pressed again.

BTW, I'm making a little video about the game. Would you like me to credit any personal website or social media places of yours along with the name? Right now I'm just linking to the Top Speed Lexaloffle page and the user profile.

@lastofavari @phil Rayne_72 Thanks for the suggestion - I've now pushed 1.3 which uses the O (z) button instead of X on the start and end screens - should reduce the chance of expectedly starting races.
Thanks for the video @lastofavari - a link here (lexoffle) is enough for me - also thanks for your great Super Hat Girl video review :-)
