Each cave is another mystery, procedurally generated with no end in sight. Only your stamina limits how far you can go.

This is pretty good. At first I didn't realise that the 2 yellow blob floor pattern showed how close you are to a gold nugget. Once I got that it changed the game and I could start to play with strategy rather than just uncovering all the spaces.

It's a simple idea, but is executed well. The presentation and graphics are all good, but the music - that's Metallica isn't it ? This is surely a first for PICO-8.

Your cart is really crying out for a level select. The first few levels are too easy and I'd really like to skip them. The challenge only really starts from level 5 onwards. How about a difficulty choice / level select linked to a high-score table?

The first time I pressed the "Play" button, it displayed the animated progress indicator in the upper left corner for several minutes without progressing. Is it possible that this was the procedural level generator getting into an endless loop? Or more likely to be a download glitch?

The second time it worked fine and all levels generated near-instantly.

I think the core mechanic is quite fun and the proc gen gives it some spice. It made the card game Saboteur come to mind. I could do without the butchered rendition of Nothing Else Matters, I think. Presentation is otherwise quite solid and everything is easy to understand.
