Not sure if this was posted yet, but it might hold some good ideas for instruments, although it's targeted at people using analogue synths, so I'm not sure how much will hold any water for the Picotron.
Someone here might figure out how to apply some of the stuff in here to the Instrument Editor in the Picotron.

Content warning for anyone digging into it: there are some casually racist remarks scattered through the series - eurocentrism, casual use of slavery as a metaphor - alongside some weird posturing about how complex and confusing the math is or something. I think there's a lot of valuable material to be found in it, and I was able to adapt some of it to Picotron, but there's some nasty stuff you have to get through if you wanna use it as a resource.

Urgh, didn't notice the racism part, sorry. The series is really, really old, but that's really not an excuse.
The reason I posted it was that it was really dense, too dense for my ADHD brain. I would love to see a version that's just distilled to the parts relevant to Picotron, and without all the icky stuff. The only thing it has going for it over, say, Syntorial is that it is free.
