Super simple example cart I made for the PICO-8 ZINE by arnaud_debock. Press Z to make the train start moving, and Z again to make it stop.

This for some reason reminds me of those mini apps from Work Time Fun. (PSP game)

I know it makes no sense, seeing how little there is to do, but I find the one button and one command it does engaging. haha. I guess I just like automated things and this reminds me of that.

Is this going somewhere specific or are you just playing around with pico 8?

@Diego I made this stripped down version of the game for PICO-8 ZINE #1. The 'full' game is basically this, although I ended up changing a lot of things during its development. It was definitely designed to be satsifying though, I'm glad to hear it achieved that!

Hey PROGRAM_IX, i read (and completed) the tutorial on Picozine, that was fun,

Can you post the optimized version of the routine you mentioned?

I checked your other full train cart, but it also features the unoptimized one :) haha

I found one in 3 IF loops instead of 4, not sure there was a better solution ^o^

I've completed the tutorial, changed the graphics, added some sounds and I'm trying to add smoke now.
my version

Thanks for putting this together @PROGRAM_IX - very useful as a first tutorial for a n00b like me. More info around putting the map together in the tutorial might have been useful, but digging around the code was enough to figure it out. Cheers!
