Post jam version:
Change log for 0.3:
-4 players!
-Nicer main menu
-You can setup the game any way you like! Each player can be assigned to: Player 1, Player 2, Easy AI, Medium AI, Hard AI or be turned off.
-Press X twice quick to quit to main menu.
It was supposed to have an AI for single player :D and the menus and setup screen and all of that :D I wasted at least 20 minutes on stupid bugs :(
wel its realy promising, i hope u pick it back up to flesh it out a little
This is really cool. Very simple but interesting mechanics. This would be awesome with an AI opponent.
I've added a menu.
You can play with just one player (just fill the board, no opponent).
3 different AI difficulties.
Against another human player.
Enjoy :)
If anyone manages to win against hard AI, let me know... I only implemented a greedy algorithm and it turns out impossible for me to win :D
The AI just checks for which chosen symbol the difference between it's area and players area is the best for the AI.
I beat it.
My only strategy be would that at first I chose my shapes based on how much I would get, but once I collided with the red I switched My strategy to how much of red could I overtake, while also paying attention to how many left over uncolored shapes there were.
Seeing as my score was 99-97 I don't think my strategy was all to perfect, and it was mostly just luck.
@Jauq: AWESOME :D Can you imagine my frustration when I couldn't beat the damn thing even once after the first implementation? :D I was beaten 5 times in a row! Then of course it turned out that there were some bugs that helped the AI:
-the fact that it could choose the symbol you just chosen :D
-it had an additional 1 move after you grabbed the last symbol :D)
@adekto: thanks :) there is still more comming... I have a few more game modes in my mind, and maybe 4 player support? :)
I really love flood,
I have just change the colors of the blue player , to make it more visible.
@armaud_debock: Yeah, I know. Today I showed the game to a friend of mine at the office, and the dark blue was barely visible against the black at his monitor... next version will have 4 player multiplayer and new colors.
Small preview :)
The ammount of players is now, technically, unlimited :) Will have to work on 6x6 and 4x4 tiles for all the AIs you can handle on a larger map :)
I updated the game with up 4-players games and fixed blue color :)
