Pretty good! What you I've played far feels like a full Pico-8 game. However, on the second stage, sometimes I take damage from nothing; it seems that interrupting the attacks of the hives prevents this, but if there's multiple of them, there doesn't seem to be much I can do. Other than that, the combat feels interesting and fair.

Great stuff, I like the dash effect!


This is a great WIP. Haven't reached the 2nd boss yet but working on it.

A bit rough here and there, but minor details overall:

  • Health feels strange : the +1 Heart container is just a heart that works even if you are at max, and you end the game with a massive line of bubbles that will never be re-filled once emptied. Maybe the container could give you just the empty bubble while the heart gives you +3 health for example ?
  • Attack bonus item seems to works (some enemies are now killed in less hits) but the damage displayed stays at 5.
  • game borders : you can get stuck in them when dashing, and in 2nd world, you can go through them. If you go too far out of bounds to the left, you are teleported back into the screen.
  • the homing orb can't hit an enemy in a void circle and goes through it, even though it is targeting said enemy.
  • When assigning a new orb to an already changed slot, the previous one gets deleted without warning.
  • when hitting an enemy, it's action countdown is properly reset, but the circle is not removed. You can easily get surprise sniped as the next shot will occur before the next out of synch circle reaches the enemy.
  • if you win a room while being in the center with the attack button down, you'll automatically get the bonus, witch is especially problematic if it's an orb.

About game-play : I often know way before I'm getting hit that I'm gonna get hit. While I know it's my fault for overshooting and I should just "get good", I'd love an item that lets you dash out of fire stun. Doing so could consume 2 greens if balancing is needed.
It would be nice to see your inventory between waves.
