Info
This is my very first pico-8 game. You get to plant Watermelons and harvest them. You can go fishing in the little pond and you can also make Melonade (which is not a real beverage, I made it up ) with the harvested Watermelons. And there is a Fa*t Cat also who's blocking your way out of the Melony forest and force you to bring him fish and Melonades. Your goal is to get out of the forest. I think the game is a bit boring , mini games are very basic and repetitive but I put a lot of time into this game so I'm still proud of it.
Controls
Use (X) to do any action like planting, watering, fishing, picking up seeds, interacting. and (O) to exit from the mini games. That's it.
Features
I've made a depth sorting system for the Watermelons. (Which I struggle a lot and I'm very proud of)
Collisions, Planting , Ui and other basic stuff...
Let me know what you think!
Cute, very polished for a 1st game !
Couldn't finish. The cat still said he wanted 15 fish and 5 juices. Maybe he's picky an won't accept 16 ?
@RealShadowCaster
Hey thanks for playing! my bad. I forgot to change the actual total amount of fish and melonades needed to finish the game which is currently like 15 Melonades and 30 fish. I notice that's too much so I changed it to 15 fish and 5 melonade but I only changed it for the Fat Cat's dialogue. I'll fix that right now.
edit: Bug fixed.
Wow, very nice first Pico8 game-i wish any of my games had this much charm. I liked your attention to detail, the little minigames, the little planting animations, the extra step in animating the harvested melons. Have you worked on other games outside of Pico8 before?
And fat cat has all the charms of a path blocking snorlax <3
@taxicomics
aww.. Thanks man! I didn't think anyone would enjoy this game to be honest. But I'm glad that you like it. Fun fact is the Fat Cat is actually one of my cat. His name is "Tote Tote" which is in Burmese language, means "Fat". Edit: Yes I'm kind of familiar with other game engines like Game maker studio and Unity but I've never made a complete game and release it publicly.
@Naiko really cute and enjoyable lil' game, I totally agree with the other comments, especially the attention to details ⭐👌
it’s not boring because I can decide which minigame I play!
the game looks nice and it’s fun to find out how the things work
great first game!
@Heracleum Thanks for playing! This mean a lot to me. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
@merwok I'm glad to hear that. I did tried my best to balance the mini games and not make the game repetitive and annoying. Thanks for the kind words.
