A quick little puzzle game. The goal is to fill up the entire grid with your snake.
Directions:
First, place the snake egg using the arrow keys. Then press 'z' to hatch it. Once hatched, use the arrow keys to move around. The level will reset if you get stuck, or you can press 'x' to reset instantly.
Really neat game! Also really difficult... Could use some music or sfx so that it isn't just me totally being terrible in silence. :P
Yeah... it's quite hard without hints. My puzzle generator can output the starting position. I'll probably integrate that somehow. Giving away the start position makes it too easy. Giving away just the row or column might be a good compromise though.
Working on music, although my attempts so far would make people's ears bleed. Haha.
That is also why the second level is much easier than the first. It has an obvious starting location. (I'm currently stuck on the third.)
Pretty cool. Took a while on level 1 but beat level 2 first try. would benefit from some music!
I've worked more on the graphics. Decided to abandon the snake idea. Couldn't figure out how to make it more interesting. Instead I went with a wiener dog/yard theme. It's a lazy summer day, so you have to lay all around the yard to achieve maximum laziness. (Makes total sense right?) This might be the most artistic thing I've ever done. Haha.
The game hasn't functionally changed, and some of the little animations are broken so I didn't post a new build yet. I also started making a little bee that flies around. I'm going to make that into the hint system.
Music! I've spent a few hours trying to make music, but am struggling a lot with the actual writing down part of the music. I can play the song I want on my flute, and I understand how trackers work, but writing it down is proving to be difficult. I'm sure I can figure it out with enough time, but I'm definitely not a natural composer. :-\
