Into the Castle

This is Into the Castle, a short 2D auto-scrolling platformer!
This game takes some inspiration from Geometry Dash, particularly the level "Castlemania" by Serponge.
This game was started as part of a university game jam in October of 2023. However when the deadline came the game was still quite unfinished, and a couple months later, I came back to finish it. This is the final product :)
This is my first finished original Pico-8 project. As such, it may be a bit rough around the edges, but I hope you enjoy nonetheless!

21/02/2024 v1.01 - Fixed an issue with water sprites. Fixed an issue with the timer. Fixed an issue with returning to the main menu after a death.
Nice, but I couldn't figure out how to go beyond this point.
about a screen before there's a red dot that's very hard not to double jump and die from, so I couldn't consistently go beyond that point, and the few times I did I couldn't even figure out after death what I should have done.
Fun geometry dash clone! It's been years and years (maybe over a decade?) since I played the game, and never beat the fourth level at the time (way before all the later updates). This felt approachable and difficult, with the final stage providing some interesting setups to figure out. I felt pretty good about the time I got on my first attempt!

To avoid double jumping, just always tap the jump button-- your character always jumps the same height, regardless of how long you press the button, so tap lightly.
