Damn, this is hard! I do not know the original, but i do wonder why there are not more games like it, the concept works great!
The pace is a little weird because of these long breaks when getting caught, but after watching a few videos i learned that this is straight from the original.
But developing a working route is very rewarding. And learning how to use the trampolines effectively enables better scores. Thanks for sharing!
When you open a door that throws you, any cats you bump into fall down as well. Unless something is stopping you, can you add this? Thanks!
@Scratchy157, damn, I remember noticing that at one point but completely forgot to implement it! If I can free up enough tokens to do this, I definitely will, otherwise it'll just have to stay as-is.
@Scratchy157, version 0.81 adds this. The cats now get briefly stunned if the player is knocked back into them (if they are close to the door, they'll still get the full stun).
I loved this game as a kid. Playing it as an adult I'm not sure why as it's hard as balls and can be really frustrating. But it's so darn charming. And pahammond lends his usual expert touch porting an arcade game. Also thank you for adding the stun to the enemies on opening a door. I died a bunch of times when that didn't happen like I expected it to.
Awesome! This is just my autism speaking here, but
- bouncing on the trampolines gave you 10 points.
- the trampoline colors went green, blue, yellow, then red before breaking.
- there were 15 red balloons, not 18 in the bonus rounds
Again, just what I remember. Very good recreation regardless. Mappy’s always a classic.
