Ideas I got while playing:
-
The backspace key should be bound to Undo. Having Enter and U for redo/undo makes my hand hurt :)
- Hitting 'Restart' should reload the saved solution, if one exists. Any new move overwrites it anyway. Sometimes I want to return to my saved solution and currently I have to exit the level and re-enter.
I think these should be extremely easy to implement, so I hope Lexaloffle listens to my prayers :)
Edit: And BTW, why does the rabbit have no arms (front paws)? :)
Gray asked: why does the rabbit have no arms (front paws)?
I assume she's clasping her hands behind her back, as many young girls tend to do -- I imagine her rocking slightly on her rabbit heels as well. Maybe I just read too much into little pixel creatures... ;)
Incidentally, I agree with both of Gray's suggestions, having run into them myself. Leave it to us to stress-test the Undo and Restart UI. :)
Good point about reloading the solution. I'll fix that and the undo keys for the next version.
Another annoying thing that needs fixing is that if you replay a solution that beats your own one, it will clobber the existing solution.
I'll also add the game-completed ceremony that FredFish suggested in another thread.
I'm still hunting a couple of elusive bugs, but 1.03 should be out early next week.
Looking forward to 1.03!
BTW, a small thing I also noticed is that the editor help mentions solving the garden in the last paragraph, which is obviously a copy/paste issue :)
More documentation issues:
-
On page 4 of the in-game documentation, there's a "to" missing in the final sentence: "If you would like record more..."
- On page 5, the buttons COPY SOLUTION and PASTE SOLUTION should read REPLAY.
Heh.. I knew I would miss at least one of those Zen Puzzle Garden terms. Thanks for the other documentation mistakes too.. they're fixed now for the next release.
Version 1.03 might take a little while though, because my iBook just died! A few applications (including dev. tools I needed for CC) were behaving erratically, so I tried running a system update on the offchance that they were bugs that had been fixed. The update failed, and now it refuses to boot. I booted from CD and ran the disk checking utility, but it quit with a general error. So it looks like the disk has gone.
Bah.
Anyone know if you can boot OSX 10.4 off a usb drive with an iBook?
