TO LOAD THIS CART in immediate mode, type:
load #freeroamingdirectory

What this program does is give you a real directory of where you are when you run it. It will not work online because you must save the cart first. It is for use in the Pico-8 OS only.
Use arrow keys to navigate. Press 🅾️ to select that file, print it out, and exit.
NOTE ! You must save this cart as a new filename if loaded Online, from Splore, or loaded from # in order for a directory to appear.
Because of the limitations of the language, unfortunately, you cannot change directories.
I am hoping in time this will change opening up the cd command so you can roam other directories besides just the one it is running in - and to allow viewing all files, not just p8 p8l and png.p8 but true .png .jpg .bmp .gif and txt as well as recognizing directories inside that directory.

It is my hopes in the future we will be able to easily read, access, and write, read, modify, duplicate, and delete data files for Pico-8. It could be limited to *.txt files, I would be good with that.

Basically, I really liked your freeroaming directory cart. I liked it so much, that I made it into a fully fledged file browser for pico8 and picotron, for use with devices that don't have easy access to a file browser.
