My Pico-8 version of the 1982 Konami arcade game.

How to Play

Collect keys to access locked areas of each tomb and reach the exit door.

Your laser can only fire left and right so don't get trapped in vertical tunnels.

Collect as much treasure as quickly as possible.

Controls

[Z] and [X] - Laser

[Z] + [X] - Smart bomb (one per life)

Fantastic game! I also have never heard of the original. Rather unusual to have two different buttons for shooting but I love it. Tough but fun!

I feel like I should have to put quarters into this cart. Really amazing job! Wishing so hard I had a proper joystick and chonky arcade buttons to play this.

This is really terrifically good. And a little easier than the insanely brutal coin-op too.

@pancelor, the only time I got that high was testing by giving myself infinite lives. Even then it was a struggle! Well done.

This is so much fun. The horizontal-only lasers is weird at first but it makes things a lot more interesting than just being able to shoot in any direction and it works so well with Pico-8's controls. Everything is so polished, lovely particle effects on enemy spawns, all the cute animated characters, the minimap, the attract mode.

I saw your version before I even knew about the original, and I think it's great! Then I happened to be at an arcade that had the original game and I was super surprised, cause I realized this is super accurate and well done. Great job!
