Stories at the dawn is a short minimalistic platformer game that I've made over the weekend.
There is a [small] world to explore and multiple endings to uncover.
The game is currently silent as I currently do not have enough experience to create anyhow worthy audio. If you feel like you can do something about that, feel free to message me or tinker with the game file (I have tried to add sufficient amounts of comments).
If you liked the game, you can also support it via the itch.io page.
I like it.
Adding some music could enforce the already great atmosphere.
So artsy!
Best of all not one that costs an arm and a leg just to find out how much content there is. xD
Really nice use of hints to the player via icons and the little progress screen has a nice professional look too, nicely done.
I highly suggest a simple song that adds tracks with the background color changes, maybe some simple sounds.
Dreams>Bass>Melody>etc
Maybe take away a track to give a certain place a mood or as a light clue to something.
Same thing with sound effects too.
Not so great for deaf players though without a visual cue. :/
A humble suggestion though.
So we can post games on itch.io now eh?
Totally forgot about it.
I think you are the first so far, unless I missed any popping up on itch.io .
Best of luck getting some support for the game.
Encourages me to work on my own projects and do the same, thanks. :3
This is my best time so far, bit confused on any of the story or the multi endings, I hardwired to where when I see a timer I go "oh crap gotta do lotta runs now". Will explore more WITH hints and see what happens. Very good game so far!
Update: cool story, very fun platformer, 8.5/10. Will update with better times soon (prob all endings)
Got a good time! I'm happy with this time, if someone beats it tag me and i'll try and compete for it back. Good Luck to all runners! (This is all endings btw, I did yellow, teal, pink, blue)
(Awesome speedrun and story-telling game btw, you get my star and heart)
Played for a very short while but was immediately impressed with the beautiful implementation of such lo-fi constraints. I am inspired. Thank you!
I grew to love it more as I went, the stories are really cute!
A run of mine:
I wrote a tune for this lovely minimal game and I embedded it into a cart!
Is it ok if I release it?
I love it. I downloaded the cart and put it on my Anbernic RG35xx so it can go on the road with me.
